The Last Of Us Subway | UE5

I've wanted to make a The Last of Us fan art for a long time, and I finally managed to put together a somewhat stylized take. For this piece I wanted to concept out something that's using both the tendrils from the show, and the spores from the games.

For the growths I used the differential growth blender addon.

Most of the scene is made up of the Dekogon City Subway Train Pack, and I modified some of the assets by blending between triplanar materials using in engine baked vertex colors (The chairs and poles).

For the tendrils, I utilized PCG to handle all of the scattering so I could iterate on the artistic side quickly and efficiently.

For the spores, I grabbed a few VDBs from Janga FX and set it up using a Heterogeneous Volume to display the material I included above. https://jangafx.com/software/embergen/download/free-vdb-animations/
